Like our other beds, we designed it with strong joinery and a clean simple appearance. We designed this frame to come apart easily and move without a lot of fuss. Once assembled though, it becomes clear that this is a piece that is here to stay. To accomplish this, we utilize solid wood joinery in combination with a high quality fastener system that locks the joint with incredible strength. This joinery method stays perfectly tight and will serve you well for many years to come.
Our bed is built with robust beech slats that nest into pocketed beech rails. Beds larger than twin are constructed with a solid beech mid beam and center leg to prevent sagging. The bed is designed for use without a foundation or box spring.

On our furniture pieces, we use 2 different eco-friendly finishes, depending on wood species. On darker woods that benefit from a slightly amber tone we use Rubio Monocoat, a Zero-VOC Oil-Wax Finish. On lighter color woods where a non-yellowing finish is preferable, we use a Osmo Oil, a Low-VOC Oil finish.

Despite being a minimalist bed frame, this is an intricately engineered work of art. It is really eye-catching, with or without a mattress! I’m a skinny woman, and I alone assembled it in an hour, and part of that time was just the unpacking — it was packed very well! Once assembled, it is rock-solid and designed to stay that way. Because this is my first slat bed, I had somewhat of an anxiety attack (after purchase) about the frame’s appropriateness for the futon mattress I purchased. Kelly assured me that this frame would support the futon perfectly well, and it does, better than expected — a very comfortable pairing.
